When I purchased my last z it had a very similar and maybe even the same alarm now that I think of it. I could not get the car started either. Having had several local stereo and alarm guys come out to fix it without success, I removed it put everything back to stock and have had no issues since. I called the company that installed it for the previous owner and he informed me that the previous owner (now dead) may have set a pass code and I would probably not be able to start or use the alarm without knowing it. Long story long its removed and I will put in an alarm when I decide to down the road again. I hate buying cars that someone has modified. GL
